Once again, I unfolded my brushes and paints in an unfamiliar place, Belvés.

A quiet little station with only a few signs, reached after changing trains twice from Paris.

Leaving behind the fast-moving city that seemed to sweep everything along,

I arrived in a place where even the wind moved without hurry, softly brushing past my cheeks before drifting into the wide fields.

As someone once said, I might be the first Korean to come here.

Without any information, I arrived as a stranger among strangers, facing unfamiliar sensations.

Walking through the morning fog filled with the deep scent of earth, I spent days staying without ever truly stopping.

Following the stone walls and small hills, the feeling of walking slowly disappears, and only breath remains clear.

A wind with no destination, and a breath moving through it. What is it that I am walking with now?

- This exhibition is based on the time I spent during a residency in Belvés, in the south of France, and consists of works created there.

Within a stretch of time without a clear goal or purpose, I continued working by following the flow, staying in a state before action.

Walking, breathing, and the subtle sensations felt in between do not settle into a single fixed image, but remain as continuing states.

The 28 works are records of time spent within those moments, where sensations slowly reveal themselves.

또다시 나의 붓과 물감을 펼친 곳은 낯선 땅, Belvés.

파리에서 기차를 두 번 갈아타고 닿은, 팻말 몇 개만 놓인 조용한 간이역.

어디론가 휩쓸리듯 발 빠르게 움직이던 도시를 뒤로하고 도착한 이곳은, 바람마저 재촉 없이 두 뺨을 보드랍게 스치곤 이내 넓은 들판으로 흘러간다.

아마 한국인은 처음일 것이라는 누군가의 말처럼, 나는 아무런 정보 없이 도착한 이곳에서 이방인 속 이방인이 되어 낯선 감각을 마주한다.

녹진한 흙냄새가 낮게 깔린 아침 안개 속을 걸으며, 멈추지 않은 채 머물던 날들.

돌담을 따라 작은 언덕들을 걷다 보면, 이내 걷는 감각은 사라지고 숨만이 선명히 이어진다.

목표 없는 바람과 그사이를 오가는 호흡. 나는 지금, 무엇으로 걷고 있는가.

이번 전시는 프랑스 남부 Belvés 레지던시에서 머무는 동안의 시간을 바탕으로, 그곳에서 진행된 작업들로 이루어져 있다.

선명한 목표나 목적 없이 이어진 시간 속에서, 나는 행위 이전의 상태에 머물며 흐름을 따라가는 태도로 작업을 이어갔다.

걷기와 숨, 그리고 그 사이에서 감지되는 미세한 감각들은 하나의 이미지로 고정되기보다 각각 지속되는 상태로 남는다.

총 28점의 작품은 그 안에 머물며 서서히 감각이 드러나는 시간의 기록이다.
